2022 Cannonau

This is our second vintage of our stunning Italian clone of Grenache and the first time its being offered in a member collection.

The 2022 growing season in Paso Robles offered both challenges and rewards, ultimately shaping a vintage of remarkable concentration and character. A warm spring supported even flowering and fruit set, while summer heatwaves, including a notable one in early September, accelerated ripening. The region's cool nights helped preserve acidity and balance, ensuring freshness alongside the intense fruit.

with beguiling aromas of dark cola, seamlessly interwoven with the richness of ripe black plum and the gentle sweetness of sun-kissed fresh fig. These inviting scents set the stage for a complex and layered experience.

On the palate, the lush essence of baked boysenberry takes center stage, delivering a velvety and sumptuous texture that unfolds with every sip. Dark fruit flavors are intricately complemented by the nuanced warmth of chai spices, creating a multidimensional profile that balances opulence with finesse.

This Cannonau concludes with an enduring and elegant finish. The bold, vivid flavors linger, showcasing a harmonious blend of dark cola, black plum, fresh fig, baked boysenberry, and chai spices. The 2022 vintage exemplifies Paso Robles’ resilience and character, leaving an indelible impression of sophistication and depth.
